In 2021, Quinta do Martelo joins the festivities of the city of Angra do Heroísmo, which preserves a unique architectural and landscape heritage and has been classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1983.
Sanjoaninas are the municipal festivities of Angra do Heroísmo, Terceira Island. Linked to the devotion to Saint John, they have become one of the most significant expressions of popular culture in the Azores.
In its 2021 edition, the festivities are inspired by the challenge of climate change, leading participants to fly to a dream future where the planet will have perfect harmony between life in the air, on land, and in the sea.
The Sanjoaninas festivities will take place from June 18th to 27th and will bring themed parades, exhibitions, popular marches, shows, sports, gastronomy, bullfights, and much more to the center of this World Heritage city.
