Quinta do Martelo – Ethnographic and Gastronomic Center, on Terceira Island, has won the “Green Key” award for the 16th consecutive year, the same number of years this award has existed in Portugal.
The national award ceremony took place at the Furnas Interpretation Center in São Miguel.
This establishment is the only one in the Azores to have won this trophy every year and one of only three in the entire country.
This international distinction aims to highlight good environmental practices, especially in energy and environmental education, in the area of sustainable tourism, as well as the socio-cultural authenticity of the host territories, preserving their cultural identity. It also aims for the equitable sharing of socio-cultural benefits, particularly in terms of stable and quality employment.
